Tryout Information: 

• If numbers permit: 2 boys teams in Grades 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th; 2 girls teams in Grades 4th, 5th, 6th.

• 3rd grade girls may try out for the 4th grade team and could make the team if 4th grade numbers are low. A 3rd grade girls team may be formed if numbers allow.

• We will not be accepting 2nd grade boys for the 3rd grade team. 

• Both boys and girls players are evaluated at the tryout by outside evaluators who have basketball experience. Teams are selected using: 

  • Skill evaluations /observation/coachability/ willingness to participate and follow directions

  • Last year’s evaluation from their travel coach (except 3rd graders who did not play

• Maximum of 10 players per team (OFBA reserves the right to select fewer than 10 players).

• Travel team coaches will be selected by the OFBA after teams have been made. OFBA Coaches do not select the teams. Do not approach an OFBA coach about team selections. All questions are to be directed to Tom or Adam below.

• Interested in coaching? Complete this application if you have never coached for OFBA before. (Will be posted on OFBA Website)

• Players selected for the travel teams will be assessed a $250 fee for the season which includes:

• Basketball shorts (to keep) and an issued jersey (to return at the end of the season)

• League Registration Fee (10 regular season games & season end tournament)

• Registration fee for 2 additional tournaments during season

• Practice time (2 practices per week)
